Parenting Education also piloted a new Flatpack Guide for Fathers a 4-week programme aimed at fathers it was designed and planned to emphasis their important role within the family and a 8 week Parenting Ur Teen programme for those in a parenting role of young people aged 11-18 yr olds and covered a range of themes including Problem Solving, Communication, Boundaries, Self esteem etc.

Parenting Forum

The Parenting Forum was established and officially launched in 1999. By coming together professionals, parents and all those who have an interest in parenting can influence policy makers, practitioners and public opinion on the value of positive parenting. During 2010 the Parenting Forum carried out 4 consultations with parents and the views of 233 parents were recorded. The Parenting Forum also acts as the lead body for National Parents' Week and during October, coordinated and promoted over 200 events throughout Northern Ireland. The Parenting Forum believes that support for parents should be both high quality and standardised throughout the country. To help achieve this goal, the Parenting Forum has been the lead local body working to introduce and subsequently review the National Occupational Standards for Work With Parents.
